Requirements:
Master’s degree or equivalent experience in nutrition, public health, international development and/or a related field. At least 10 years of experience in health systems strengthening in Africa and/or Asia. Experience in the design, implementation and monitoring of maternal, newborn, child health and nutrition programs. Proven track record of managing large-scale, multi-country health and nutrition programs in Africa and/or Asia. Solid experience in managing complex grants from institutional and private donors. Demonstrated experience in partnership brokering. Expertise in business development, including successful fundraising and resource mobilization. Extensive experience in managing teams in a cross-cultural, multi-regional environment. Ability to successfully present and engage at high-level meetings, conferences, and advisory groups. Fluency in English. Fluency in French (advanced-level spoken and written or higher required).
Responsibilities:
Serve as a thought partner for strategic decision-making. Support the development and implementation of portfolio-level strategy. Ensure strategic positioning and execution of strategy. Support strategic planning and decision-making on financial resources. Provide overall technical direction and oversight for projects and programs. Lead technical inputs to project design, course correction, and redesign. Ensure projects are implemented to high-quality standards and within budget. Ensure monitoring and learning strategies are applied across the portfolio. Analyze and interpret data for programmatic decision making. Build strong relationships with partners for program implementation. Provide technical leadership to donor and partner relationships. Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability for the technical team. Ensure effective performance management of direct reports. Support strategic and collaborative decision-making on financial resources. Maintain technical oversight in budget development and management. Contribute to global working groups and strategic fora. Provide technical leadership over and/or contribute to global partnership brokering. Support the development and execution of advocacy and communications strategies. Cultivate donor relationships and ensure donor stewardship. Lead the technical design and development of new project proposals. Occasional short-term travel (1-2 weeks) in Asia and Africa. Additional international travel may be required.
