Estimator (with Databuild software experience) - WFH

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar (preferred). Relevant qualification in Building, Construction Management, Estimating, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of proven experience as an Estimator in the residential construction industry. Proficiency in Databuild and Onsite Companion is essential. Strong understanding of residential building methods, materials, and cost structures. Ability to read and interpret building plans, engineering drawings, and specifications. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines. Strong communication and negotiation skills when working with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams. Knowledge of Australian residential building codes and standards.

Prepare accurate cost estimates and BOQs for residential construction projects using Databuild and Onsite Companion. Estimate a range of projects, from first homeowner products to contracts up to $1.6 million. Produce detailed take-offs, cost breakdowns, and purchase orders in line with company procedures. Review and interpret building plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify project requirements. Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain up-to-date pricing and negotiate best-value outcomes. Ensure all estimates comply with relevant building codes, company standards, and budget constraints. Manage workload effectively to deliver accurate estimates on time — typically handling 2 projects per week, with variations depending on complexity and size. Communicate clearly with design, drafting, and construction teams to resolve any scope or cost queries. Maintain accurate records of estimates, costings, and variations throughout the project lifecycle. Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and database management in Databuild. Perform other role-specific duties as required.
