Patient Safety Program Specialist

Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public administration, public policy, public health, or a related field. Proven ability to design, implement, and support a regional technical assistance strategy tailored to providers' unique needs. Comprehensive knowledge of patient safety topic areas and hands-on experience in nursing homes, hospitals, and/or clinician offices. In-depth understanding of quality measures and QI methodologies in key focus areas, including evidence-based interventions and knowledge of barriers and drivers for improvement. Proven ability to design and deliver effective training programs, workshops, and learning collaboratives.

Oversee patient safety related quality improvement initiatives. Support Quality Improvement Advisors (QIAs) in delivering technical assistance and achieving project goals. Serve as a subject matter expert in medication safety, infection prevention and control, risk assessments, and safety events/policies. Standardize processes, identify improvement opportunities, and address challenges with leadership. Engage with state, regional, and national partners. Support relationships and collaborative activities.
