Senior Data Engineer - Risk, Fraud & Disputes

5+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or data engineering. Expert in SQL, including analytical functions, performance optimization, and ETL best practices. Deep domain expertise in risk and fraud signals, dispute patterns, or related behavioral datasets. Strong analytical intuition to transform ambiguous business questions into structured analyses. Significant experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau). Proficient with modern data tooling (e.g., Airflow, dbt). Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics or light Machine Learning tasks (Nice-to-Have).

Partner with Risk, Fraud and Disputes Engineers and Product Managers to understand business needs. Lead creation of high-quality labeled datasets for machine learning, fraud detection, and chargeback modeling. Collaborate with Machine Learning and Backend Teams to productionize data assets. Analyze large-scale transactional, fraud, and chargeback datasets to surface trends and anomalies. Build and maintain real-time dashboards and reporting mechanisms. Identify and recommend data improvements for fraud and chargeback detection. Act as a domain expert on fraud and dispute data. Partner with Finance and Operations to answer business-critical questions. Collaborate with Engineering to design, validate, and maintain Airflow pipelines and ETL workflows.
