Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field. Associateship in the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or comparable designation. 7+ years of experience in actuarial consulting or financial analysis, preferably in the insurance/employee benefits/HR area. Expertise with actuarial modeling tools and financial analysis software (e.g., Claros) and advanced proficiency with Excel. Experience with VBA and SQL is a plus. Strong understanding of benefit plan design, risk management, funding methodologies, and applicable regulatory frameworks. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strategic thinking and advanced quantitative analysis. Client relationship management and presentation skills. Regulatory awareness and commitment to compliance. Leadership and mentorship abilities. Expertise with MS Excel handling large data sets and data validation best practices. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. High level of accountability, attention to detail, organization, and proactive problem solving. High-touch client orientation. Demonstrated business acumen and financially responsible approach. Must have state Life & Health insurance license (or obtain within 90 days of employment).
Responsibilities:
Develop accurate and timely financial analyses for clients. Prepare financial and quantitative analyses for client teams. Prepare IBNR analyses and validate claim reserves. Produce underwriting analyses for client renewals and projections. Monitor and report on stop-loss coverage, claims experience, and reimbursements. Develop pharmacy rebate reconciliations. Validate and reconcile invoicing for actuarial services and program costs. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and actuarial standards. Develop and present financial reviews to client leadership. Deliver periodic reporting and dashboards. Coordinate with carriers, PBMs, TPAs, and vendors for data validation. Support client strategy with evaluation of plan design alternatives and risk profiles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate actuarial insights. Employ effective project management skills. Mentor and guide analysts.
