Requirements:
1-4 years of communications and/or public relations experience Exceptional writing and editing skills Fluency across social and digital media and other communications channels Experience writing and editing social media copy and developing editorial calendars Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and prioritize high-volume, high-priority initiatives Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines Strong analytical and critical thinking skills Eagerness to take a creative approach to problem solving Capacity to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic, and uncertain environments Ability to identify priorities and function independently Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
Responsibilities:
Provide logistical support for reporter and multimedia partnerships Manage internal tracker of communications hits and media clips Assist with development of pitches to various media outlets Attend relevant events and conferences Support initial drafting of press releases Evaluate trends in national and local media coverage and social media discourse Produce research memos and other prep materials for media interviews Manage internal database tracker of external media pieces Support planning, research, and implementation of multimedia efforts Develop weekly internal utility bills communications report Develop social media content calendar and editorial calendar Manage PowerLines’ social media accounts and maintain regular posting schedule Lead development of social and digital media posts and toolkits Support identification and collection of stories of energy consumers impacted by rising utility bills Support production of multimedia content as needed Monitor social media trends, engagement analytics, and audience insights Coordinate digital campaigns around key announcements, events, and launches Draft copy for PowerLines website, newsletter, blog posts, and reports
