7+ years commercial experience as a Software Engineer Strong backend engineering experience, ideally in Java (or another strongly typed language with willingness to work in Java) DDD fluency (aggregates, invariants, boundaries, contracts, ubiquitous language) Value-driven mindset Operational maturity (comfortable owning code in production, from build pipelines to monitoring and iteration) Modern engineering practices (version control, CI/CD, containerised development, cloud environments - AWS ideal) Clear, thoughtful communication T-shaped mindset (deep backend expertise with ability to collaborate across stack)

Designing and building backend services in Java Working with existing PHP systems Modelling domains and defining boundaries Contributing to architectural decisions Implementing clear, maintainable APIs and backend features Owning work beyond delivery (build pipelines, observability, production behaviour) Participating in code reviews and technical discussions Improving performance, reliability, and security Contributing to engineering excellence
