Engineering Manager, Data/AI

6+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a direct people management role. 3-5 years of experience on a Data and/or AI Engineering team. Experience building scalable, customer-facing data products using Python, Databricks, Azure, and Kubernetes. Strong experience with Data Lakehouse technologies (e.g. Databricks, Apache Spark), software design principles, and data governance. Proven track record of building complex, reusable architectures and guiding teams through technical complexity. Strong understanding of Data Science concepts in Machine Learning and Generative AI. Modern AI experience (e.g. Generative AI, RAG, and agentic frameworks). Maintains a professional and current LinkedIn profile.

Manage a team of 6-8 engineers, providing coaching for technical excellence and career growth. Lead the team to deliver consistently against ambitious goals, defining success metrics and tracking progress. Own the technical direction and long-term vision for the Data/AI team. Design a scalable data architecture, ensuring it is sound, scalable, secure, and aligns with best practices. Balance the repayment of technical debt with the delivery of new feature development. Guide efforts in designing, creating, evolving, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, model deployment, and monitoring frameworks. Partner with the team's Product Manager and Product Designer to understand customer needs. Contribute to the evolution of Procurify’s engineering culture. Collaborate with partners across the organization to deliver software solutions.
