5+ years of professional experience as a data scientist Typically coding in Python with relevant libraries Demonstrated ability to select and implement ML algorithms Demonstrated ability to shape data into useful input features Demonstrated ability to choose and optimize appropriate model performance metrics Proficiency with NLP, text processing, LLMs / generative models, and conversational UX Mathematical thinking foundation and orientation Skill working with data sources of various types using tools such as SQL, pandas, Spark Expertise designing and building deep learning architectures and models Ability to work well independently and with colleagues Skill collaborating using cloud-based tooling, git, notebook systems, and ML workflows High quality deployable code writing Advanced degree in a quantitative field, or a related Bachelor’s and additional experience working with data

Train and tune machine learning models Explore data and conduct feature engineering Apply natural language processing to understand text and aid in conversational interfaces Build optimal algorithms with LLMs and retrieval augmented generation Collaborate with data engineers, AI software engineers, data analysts, and stakeholders Evaluate emerging techniques by understanding academic papers and new technical tools, and by conducting labs, prototypes, and explorations Monitor and optimize production models
