Requirements:
5+ years of advanced SEO strategy experience owning complex client outcomes Deep expertise in technical SEO (site architecture, JavaScript rendering, Core Web Vitals, schema, log analysis) Proven track record of diagnosing and solving non-obvious ranking problems Strong understanding of competitive intelligence Experience across multiple verticals with understanding of local SEO strategy differences Comfort with AI-augmented workflows 2-3+ years managing SEO strategists, specialists, or senior analysts Track record of developing people's strategic thinking abilities Experience managing remote/distributed teams Comfort with coaching through ambiguity Systems-level thinker with ability to see patterns and abstract lessons Strong business acumen Data Focused: ability to interpret Analytics, Search Console, and ranking data Ability to simplify complexity and translate technical issues into clear strategic narratives Exceptional English communication (written and verbal) Natural teacher who enjoys developing expertise in others Skilled at constructive critique Comfortable presenting to executive leadership
Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and develop a team of 6-10 SEO Strategists Conduct coaching sessions focused on strategic problem-solving Review complex strategies before client delivery Identify knowledge gaps and create learning programs Build a culture of constructive challenge among strategists Hire and onboard senior SEO talent Manage performance issues Ensure correct implementation of on-page SEO elements Own the quality of strategy output for Strategic/Elite accounts Serve as escalation point for difficult SEO problems Review strategies for at-risk accounts and develop 'save plans' Partner with Account Management to diagnose client issues and architect solutions Monitor portfolio performance metrics Document proven strategies and diagnostic frameworks Identify and codify best practices across verticals Translate field insights to Product for automation improvements Refine strategic brief format and QA process Build case studies and post-mortems Stay ahead of algorithm updates and industry shifts Partner with Web Production Specialist for accurate execution Work with Account Management to address client concerns proactively Collaborate with Sales for expectation setting and onboarding Communicate team capacity, priorities, and client risk to Director of Production
