Principal Software Engineer

Strong hands-on experience building modern web platforms and scalable systems with TypeScript, Node.js, and React. Deep understanding of browser internals and the Web Platform, including performance, rendering, and security. Experience working with visual development tools, design systems, or domain-specific languages. Prior experience launching or leading a new engineering hub or site. Expertise with Next.js, Remix, Tailwind CSS, or edge and runtime performance optimization. Proven experience designing and scaling APIs, services, and distributed systems. Solid background in database design and optimization for both SQL and NoSQL systems (MongoDB experience is a plus). Familiarity with modern development practices such as monorepos, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure. The ability to clearly explain and defend technical decisions using structured reasoning and awareness of tradeoffs. A track record of mentorship and technical leadership across multiple teams. Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly in detailed technical discussions. A curious and growth-oriented mindset, including interest in AI and emerging technologies that drive innovation and impact. Business-level fluency to read, write and speak in English

Write and ship production code with high standards for quality and clarity. Make well-reasoned architectural decisions, documenting criteria, constraints, and tradeoffs. Deeply understand and improve our web platform foundation, including browser rendering, performance, networking, and security. Drive platform research and innovation by exploring new frameworks, tools, and methods. Mentor engineers and raise technical standards across readability, reliability, and performance. Communicate clearly in technical discussions, framing problems precisely and connecting decisions to business outcomes. Help shape our hub’s growth by refining interview loops, onboarding, and career paths while building an inclusive and collaborative culture.
