Resident Project Representative

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline 3+ years of construction/field observation experience required EIT/PE a plus Ability to communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, Owner and contractor's superintendent. Excellent written communication skills Computer proficiency with Microsoft applications Knowledge of construction processes, means, and methods. Ability to stand and walk around for several hours observing and documenting field conditions or critical construction operations at active construction sites. Valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportation are required.

Observe and report on the construction of municipal water and wastewater projects. Monitor and report the contractor's adherence to standards, specifications, and design drawings and permits. Review contract documents, submittals, RFIs, and other project documentation. Observe construction activities ensuring compliance with the contract and site procedures. Track activities to review payments. Prepare progress reports. Monitor that construction complies with approved current standards and specifications. Observe and photograph construction work in progress. Note and report improprieties and deficiencies. Maintain field log of daily events. Track and quantify items of construction daily. Monitor project schedule. Coordinate and schedule subconsultants as needed. Communicate proactively and consistently with all involved parties. Formulate written progress reports. Observe and record material and equipment tests and equipment startup. Review and provide recommendations for submittals, pay estimates for contractors, proposed change orders, and documentation for funding and regulatory agencies.
