Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, software development, and cloud-native system design Proven experience designing and implementing microservices architectures in healthcare or federal IT environments Deep knowledge of FHIR, RESTful APIs, OpenAPI, and integration with EHR systems Hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot), Kubernetes, AWS, and DevOps tools (Jenkins, CI/CD) Strong understanding of security, compliance, and policy-based access control in cloud environments Excellent written and verbal communication skills U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Responsibilities:
Lead technical vision and system architecture for DP+ integration and backend shared services Design and implement scalable, reusable microservices using modern frameworks and healthcare standards Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and development teams Develop and maintain architectural diagrams and process flows Ensure interoperability and integration across VA EHR systems and external platforms Oversee adoption of cloud platforms and DevOps practices Guide the team in implementing policy engines, authentication, and secure service design Provide technical leadership in architecture reviews, troubleshooting, and compliance Author and maintain comprehensive technical documentation Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends Participate in Agile ceremonies and foster a culture of collaboration
