Requirements:
Hands on experience with and expertise in one or more of the primary transit fixed route scheduling platforms such as, HASTUS, Trapeze FX, Optibus, Remix, related modules and systems like Clever Devices. Experience with paratransit scheduling packages such as Trapeze Pass, GIRO, CTS, Ecolane, Trip Spark, QRyde, is also desirable. Experience with mobility-on-demand (microtransit) software-as-a-service is also another area of interest. Access to transit agency clients and previous experience in transit operational planning is desirable. Previous experience performing scheduling for one or more public transit agencies. Understanding of transit scheduling concepts, practices, and procedures. Strong technical and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
Provide scheduling support to a variety of transit agencies on an as-needed basis. Evaluating data and adjusting transit schedules to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and equity of schedules. Using Hastus, Trapeze or other scheduling software to define routes, assign bus stops, develop blocks, develop runcuts, and create rosters in accordance with transit service standards and the collective bargaining agreement. Formulating runcutting alternatives, evaluate alternatives, and recommend preferred options. Using available technology such as Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) and Automatic Passenger Counters (APC) to monitor schedule adherence, ridership, and other key metrics. Monitoring performance metrics to adjust schedules for efficiency and equity. Reviewing draft public schedules for errors prior to final publication. Training agency scheduling staff. Coordinating with Operations and Customer Service staff on schedule changes. Create and/or updates documentation for internal policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.
