Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, policy, economics, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental research, policy, or program coordination. Demonstrated experience engaging with government agencies, NGOs, and local stakeholders. Strong organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail. Proven ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize data. Experience supporting multi-stakeholder or regional environmental programs is highly desirable. Familiarity with ocean, water, or climate-related programs in Southeast Asia. Experience contributing to multi-year, multi-stakeholder environmental or scientific initiatives. Ability to work and thrive in an entrepreneurial, rapidly evolving environment with significant ambiguity. Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral communications. Proven track record in taking initiative and ability to multi-task. Determined, resourceful, and practical. Agile with a track record of getting things done. Organized, reliable, and meticulous. Ability to prioritize, meet tight deadlines, and anticipate needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Comfortable with ambiguity. Maintains high standards. Highly collaborative. General curiosity and passion for the Ocean.
Responsibilities:
Support engagement with government ministries, regional research agencies, and local NGOs. Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder dialogues. Assist in identifying regional priorities, opportunities, and constraints. Monitor policy and scientific developments relevant to OceanX's mission. Collect, compile, and analyze environmental, policy, and scientific data. Prepare reports, briefs, and presentation materials. Support expedition and project planning. Track program progress and maintain records. Assist in organizing events and knowledge-sharing forums. Contribute to research on ecosystem services, conservation initiatives, and regional environmental priorities. Willingness for travel, primarily within the region and to the vessel. Willingness to work flexible hours to support cross-time zone collaboration. Adaptable to varying workloads.
