Requirements:
3+ years of professional work experience (private, nonprofit, philanthropic, or public sector), and/or graduate-level education. Demonstrated exposure to and engagement with issues related to data, AI, and their role in enabling social good. Working understanding of and conversant in vocabulary related to data science, AI/ML, and technology product development. Ability to quickly synthesize information, identify gaps, and deliver recommendations. Ability to assess progress and make adjustments to approach as needed. Ability and desire to work independently with a willingness to check in with leadership and/or teammates. Ability to organize complex information into clear frameworks, and identify open questions and areas for further learning. Ability to communicate outputs clearly, concisely, and in a structured manner. High standard for written and visual communication. Thoughtful, responsible representation of the Foundation in external interactions. Mindfulness of power dynamics when interacting with external stakeholders. Ability to proactively identify potential issues or roadblocks in external relationships. Ability to anticipate impacts of projects and decisions on stakeholders. Exercise great judgment daily. Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain understanding of grantmaking focus areas and the role of data and AI solutions. Design and complete field sensing and landscape analyses. Produce portfolio strategy retrospectives. Support the generation, validation, and refinement of strategic hypotheses and learning questions. Conduct research and outreach to identify potential grant partners. Prepare evidence-based recommendation materials for funding decisions. Summarize learnings from grant reports and external sources. Identify opportunities for collaboration across grantees. Provide project-based support for grantmaking systems and practices. Participate in external events and partnerships.
