Proven experience leading deeply technical teams within product companies Strategic decision-making experience Hiring and mentorship experience Technical depth for mentorship (spotting code issues, debugging, analyzing performance bottlenecks) Cross-platform experience building tools/libraries for other developers (Rust or C/C++) Cross-functional collaboration skills Ability to simplify deeply technical topics Empowering leadership style with technical credibility Experience working with or leading engineers on rendering APIs (OpenGL, WebGL, Vulkan, Metal, WebGPU, DX12) Experience ensuring maintainability and scalability of large Rust codebases (>100k LOC) Experience with text-rendering pipelines or vector-graphics editing pipelines

Drive long-term strategy and execution of the internal Rust-based engine (rendering, document model, data synchronization, real-time collaboration) Serve as a keystone for iOS, Android, Web apps and API through cross-functional partnership Scale the team while maintaining culture and excellence, fostering knowledge-sharing and bottom-up initiatives Ensure technical excellence through code review, performance optimization, and troubleshooting complex issues Establish technical direction for agentic image editing goals Advance the wgpu-based rendering pipeline Create space for calculated risk-taking alongside rapid shipping excellence
