SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator. Expertise in analysing and mitigating wait events, bottlenecks, and resource contention. Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing database replication and CDC solutions. In-depth knowledge of SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery mechanisms. Strong proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and resolving database-related performance issues. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude. Azure knowledge is a plus. Willingness to further grow on Azure technologies is a must. Ability to communicate well in English, Dutch language is an advantage.

Design, implement, and maintain high-performance SQL Server databases. Perform in-depth performance tuning and optimization. Analyze wait events and proactively address performance challenges. Oversee and manage database replication strategies. Implement and manage Change Data Capture (CDC) processes. Monitor database health using various tools and set up alerting. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to critical database issues. Work closely with cross-functional and cloud teams for database upgrades, migrations, and patching. Document database configurations, processes, and best practices. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices.
