Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related field + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency US Citizenship is required 10+ years of relevant experience with 5 years of experience in specification writing (preferred) CSI Certification – either CDT or CCS (preferred) Good working knowledge of building codes and construction materials and techniques Architectural Licensure (preferred) Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines Knowledge of specification formats – Masterformat, Uniformat and narrative approaches Experience with Federal Government projects (preferred) Strong experience with MS Office software Knowledgeable of LEED, and other sustainability measurement methods Strong communication skills
Responsibilities:
Leads the specifications writing and management for multiple projects Identify LEED, and other sustainability measurement methods Assist staff in the preparation of contract documents Develop detailed, project specific specifications Review drawings and other project information to write and edit project specifications Propose continual development and improvement of master specifications Contribute to regional initiatives related to standards development, training, and mentorship
