Forward Deployed Engineer

Experience with API design, implementation, and integration (REST services, different authentication protocols). Strong JavaScript/TypeScript programming skills. Proficiency with Bash/shell scripting, Git/GitHub, and SQL (Postgres/MySQL). Experience automating common tasks with reusable scripts. Ability to clearly document technical integrations and train users. Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences. Patient, customer-focused approach to problem-solving. Experience with batch job processing technologies (Airflow, AWS Batch) is a plus. Familiarity with AWS, Docker, GraphQL, Node.js, Express, SFTP, Postman is a plus. Background in geospatial technology (Mapbox, ESRI products, Leaflet) is a plus. Experience migrating ad-hoc scripts into standardized scripts within a larger platform is a plus. Exposure to architecture design for integration systems and batch job processing is a plus. Background in government software or permit management systems is a plus. Experience with test automation for integration solutions is a plus.

Design and implement API integrations between Forerunner's platform and customer systems. Translate customer requirements into technical specifications and solutions. Create reusable and scalable integration frameworks. Build and maintain monitoring systems for integrations. Develop and maintain automated tests for integration solutions. Develop scripts and processes to automate data import and export. Design and implement data transformation pipelines. Create solutions for data migration challenges. Build internal tools for customer-facing teams. Collaborate with the platform engineering team. Collaborate with Product on roadmap and integration goals. Partner with Customer Success, Sales, and GIS teams. Document integration requirements and processes. Support Sales and Customer Success with technical guidance. Collaborate with customers to understand their technical infrastructure. Provide technical guidance to customers. Establish best practices for customer technical onboarding and integration. Translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
