Staff Backend Engineer

Strong experience working on the backend of a technology product. Product mindset: care about customer outcomes and make data-informed decisions. Comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity. Interested in distributed systems and writing resilient software. Some experience with strongly-typed languages (Go, Java, C, Scala etc.).

Build and support a particular part of Monzo within a squad. Collaborate with product managers, marketers, user researchers, designers, mobile engineers, web engineers, data analysts, business analysts, and writers. Contribute to collectives such as Core Banking, Business Banking, Wealth, Borrowing, Growth, Payments, Platform, Fincrime, Security & Expansion. Potentially work with machine learning and AI.
