About OpenHands
OpenHands builds the open, secure platform for cloud-based software agents, empowering engineering teams to accelerate development. We provide AI agents that write code, run commands, and browse the web, acting as autonomous coding assistants. Our platform has over 5 million open-source downloads, with 2,000 contributions from 186 contributors in less than six months. OpenHands serves engineering teams across North America, Europe, and Asia, helping them optimize their coding processes and automate workflows.
How We Work
We operate as a remote-first company, valuing flexibility and autonomy. Our core hours are 12–4pm ET (4–8pm UTC), allowing you to shape your workday. The culture here is built on kindness, candid communication, and a commitment to continuous learning. We foster an environment where you own your work and contribute to open source projects used globally.
Engineering at OpenHands
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will build and maintain our self-hosted deployment product, crucial for customer POCs and successful rollouts. You will navigate complex infrastructure challenges using Kubernetes and Helm, which are central to our operations. Expect to own cloud infrastructure on GCP, AWS, or Azure, implementing infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or Pulumi. You will debug intricate cross-system issues, deliver sustainable fixes, and contribute to our infrastructure standards and reliability practices. Our team tackles hard problems in orchestration and enterprise deployment, always striving for clean, well-tested, production-grade code.
