- Define and structure engaging activities that support exploration and combat, using gameplay mechanics to drive fun, challenge, and variety.
- Contribute to the definition and evolution of design guidelines, including metrics, objectives, scripting, and rewards.
- Ensure levels are readable and intuitive, guiding player movement and decision-making through layout, landmarks, and visual cues.
- Drive iteration across multiple locations or features using playtests, feedback, and evolving game systems to improve quality.
- Act as a key point of contact between disciplines, helping align gameplay intent, constraints, and solutions.
- Identify and proactively solve gameplay issues related to flow, pacing, difficulty, and clarity, anticipating risks and proposing solutions at both local (level) and systemic (game-wide) scales.
- Create highly realized gameplay moments during large-scale army battles, using scripting tools (e.g., Unreal Blueprints) to orchestrate pacing, events, and player-facing spectacle.
- Stay informed about level design trends and best practices, analyzing relevant games to gather insights and inspiration that improve your work.
- Mentor and support other Level Designers through feedback, reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to planning, scoping, and prioritization of level design work.
