Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, business analytics, or a similar relevant field, or demonstrated equivalent experience in BI-specific roles.
- 2–3 years of hands-on Power BI experience building datasets and data models, not just consuming or lightly editing existing dashboards.
- Experience with Power BI relationships, DAX measures, and Power Query.
- Working knowledge of SQL for reading and validating data and understanding joins, keys, and data grain.
- Ability to explain what data means and where it comes from.
- Demonstrated ability to incorporate AI tools into daily BI workflows, including query drafting, DAX or Power Query work, documentation, and automation.
- Ability to independently validate AI-generated outputs before they reach stakeholders.
- Direct exposure to Microsoft Fabric, including lakehouses or dataflows, or Azure Data Factory is a nice to have.
- Experience owning a BI dataset or model end to end is a nice to have.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI datasets, data models, and dashboards, including relationships and measures.
- Trace data from source systems through Azure Data Factory and Fabric into Power BI, and diagnose issues independently.
- Partner with stakeholders across departments to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Own reporting data accuracy and quality, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
- Document data models, datasets, and reporting logic for team continuity and quality assurance.
- Use AI tools to draft queries, DAX and Power Query logic, and documentation, independently validating outputs before stakeholder use.
- Identify and build AI-powered automation for manual reporting workflows and expand self-service analytics.
- Grow into Customer Operations systems including ChurnZero, Salesforce, and ZenDesk, with training as needed.
