Requirements
- Have 7+ years of relevant product design experience, including building or leading a multi-team design system.
- Provide a strong portfolio with at least one system-level case study covering your role, architecture, governance and measurable impact.
- Demonstrate advanced visual and interaction design craft, including hierarchy, layout, typography, grids, spacing, motion, usability and accessibility.
- Have expert command of Figma libraries, variables, modes, component properties and token pipelines.
- Show experience architecting scalable systems across teams and connecting them to AI tools.
- Bring deep front-end development fluency, including HTML, CSS and component frameworks such as React or Vue, and be able to review implementations for fidelity.
- Have hands-on experience vibe coding prototypes with AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- Have deep WCAG knowledge and hands-on experience designing and testing accessible components.
- Bring a clear point of view on design systems for AI-assisted development and experience designing AI-driven or intelligent interfaces.
- Demonstrate cross-functional leadership and communication skills, including leading critiques and workshops and persuading stakeholders with rationale, evidence and craft.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategy and execution for design system areas based on product needs, usage data and technical constraints.
- Define and evolve visual foundations, including tokens, theming, color, typography, spacing, iconography and motion.
- Design and refine components and patterns, including states, variants, responsive behavior and failure states.
- Create primitives, templates and starter kits for teams building with AI tools.
- Document visual, interaction, content and accessibility rules as machine-readable guidance for AI coding tools and agents.
- Partner with front-end engineers on token architecture, component APIs and implementation fidelity.
- Shape contribution, versioning, deprecation and governance models for the design system.
- Guide product teams in system adoption, study usage in shipped products and feed findings back into the system.
- Set standards for usability, accessibility, interaction quality and visual consistency, and mentor designers through critique and system reviews.
- Collaborate across US, UK and India time zones.
