Requirements
- Have at least 8 years of software engineering or engineering management experience.
- Show a progressive path from software engineering into senior technical or management roles.
- Have people management experience leading a pod of at least 5 engineers, including hiring and performance management.
- Have recent experience shipping production software and actively coding in an engineering management role.
- Have hands-on TypeScript skills and substantial backend experience.
- Have experience with TypeScript and modern web and backend technologies such as React, Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
- Have experience using AI tools in engineering workflows.
- Be familiar with AI product development practices such as evaluations, experiment design, and dataset curation.
- Startup or small-company experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support engineers through regular one-to-ones, feedback, performance reviews, hiring, and career development.
- Own the pod's planning, retrospectives, and delivery health, and escalate risks early.
- Continue coding and contribute approximately 1 to 2 pull requests per week.
- Partner with product managers and technical leads on prioritization, architecture, and cross-functional alignment.
- Support effective onboarding and maintain clear documentation and ownership boundaries.
