Requirements
- Bring 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Have at least 4+ years specializing in technical revenue recognition, order-to-cash operations, and revenue close processes within SaaS or tech companies.
- Have 2+ years of direct people management experience.
- Demonstrate experience mentoring and scaling revenue and AR professionals.
- Have deep knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 and ASC 340-40.
- Bring expertise in complex contract evaluations and revenue audit requirements.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Hold an active or inactive CPA designation.
- Have hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP, specifically NetSuite ARM or other revenue modules.
- Have experience with billing engines, Salesforce, and close management software.
Responsibilities
- Oversee revenue accounting operations, billing systems, contract reviews, customer invoicing, collections, and cash application.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a Senior Accountant, Revenue and an AR Specialist.
- Review revenue schedules, balance sheet reconciliations, and AR aging performance.
- Evaluate complex revenue arrangements and multi-element contracts under ASC 606 and ASC 340-40.
- Prepare revenue accounting memos and policies for new products and pricing models.
- Improve revenue billing engines, NetSuite ERP, and close management processes through automation.
- Partner with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, Customer Success, and Product on contract terms, pricing, billing, and collections.
- Maintain internal controls for order-to-cash and revenue processes and serve as the primary external audit contact for revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable.
