Experience
4-8 years of post-JD experience

Requirements

  • Hold a JD from an accredited law school.
  • Maintain active Bar membership in good standing.
  • Have 4-8 years of post-JD experience independently negotiating SaaS, technology, licensing, partner, and vendor agreements with minimal oversight.
  • Have working knowledge of consumer data privacy laws relevant to commercial contracting, including CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, and FCRA.
  • Be comfortable using AI tools for contract drafting, redlining, or review as part of a daily workflow.
  • Law firm, data use/licensing, and fintech experience are preferred.
  • Public-sector sales contracting experience, including SLED and/or Federal sales, RFP/RFx responses, or government procurement, is preferred.
  • Be able to independently manage multiple projects with varying deadlines and make decisions in ambiguous circumstances.
  • Demonstrate collaborative partnership and diplomatic communication with multiple constituencies.

Responsibilities

  • Advise Sales, Customer Success, Finance, Security, and Product on deal structure, contract negotiations, risk, and compliance.
  • Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret technology and commercial contracts, including SaaS, partner/reseller, NDA, evaluation, and vendor agreements.
  • Identify and resolve legal and regulatory risks related to IP, licensing, data use, privacy, and compliance in commercial contracts.
  • Become an expert on Socure's products and business models and help bring new offerings to market.
  • Identify risks and offer pragmatic risk-mitigation solutions.
  • Prepare, maintain, and improve template agreements, playbooks, and operational guidance.
  • Use AI tools for contract drafting, redlining, and review, and identify opportunities for further automation.
  • Ensure customer contract terms addressing data usage rights or restrictions are consistent with rights secured under underlying data-acquisition and vendor agreements, coordinating with relevant legal, data, product, and privacy teams.
