Requirements
- Have at least 4 years of professional billing experience, particularly with intricate billing scenarios.
- Analyze ambiguous contract terms and determine their billing consequences.
- Be familiar with Zone or equivalent NetSuite-native billing software and able to train and guide teammates.
- Have experience matching and posting customer payments against invoices.
- Be familiar with Salesforce for navigating and extracting contract, account, and opportunity details.
- Use AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT and Claude to enhance daily workflows.
- Bring a collaborative approach and be comfortable guiding colleagues on workflows.
- Have strong interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional stakeholders and ask clarifying questions proactively.
- Be able to investigate and resolve questions independently when details are limited.
- Advanced Excel proficiency is a plus; experience in Services and SaaS is preferred, and collections experience is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Review customer contracts and correspondence to determine the correct billing treatment.
- Process invoices and credit memos for complex or non-standard billing scenarios.
- Guide teammates on invoice-processing workflows in Zone and review invoices for accuracy before sending them to customers.
- Respond to customer billing inquiries by email, researching questions and providing accurate answers.
- Match incoming customer payments to invoices and post them through daily cash application.
- Follow up on past-due accounts and coordinate escalations with Fund Admin/CX.
- Monitor AR aging and flag at-risk balances to the Billing & Collections Manager.
- Improve and refine workflows within Zone.
- Partner with Deal Desk on contract structuring and with Fund Admin/CX on billing and collections.
- Use AI tools to improve productivity across billing, cash application, and reporting workflows.
