Requirements
- Have 10+ years of design experience.
- Independently formulate design directions and processes.
- Lead and mentor teams through execution.
- Guide teams through ambiguity, establish clear visions, and drive strategies for global products.
- Apply systems-oriented thinking to comprehensive online and offline user experiences.
- Demonstrate advanced interaction and visual design capabilities.
- Use analytical skills and user insights to develop solutions and actionable design milestones.
- Demonstrate storytelling, presentation, communication, and stakeholder-management abilities.
- Have end-to-end product development experience from conception to launch, or experience spearheading major product redesigns.
- Have experience applying and evolving mature design systems.
- Understand technological capabilities, business objectives, user needs, and their opportunities and constraints.
Responsibilities
- Lead multiple international initiatives, defining design strategy, objectives, and the holistic user experience.
- Lead detailed design execution with systematic thinking and high-quality craft.
- Shape the Airbnb platform through international perspectives, contributing to brand and product architecture.
- Partner with country managers, product managers, engineers, data scientists, researchers, localization managers, and writers to define problems and goals.
- Map user flows, prototype interactions, and launch products and services.
- Influence leadership and stakeholder decisions through clear points of view and storytelling.
- Help teams navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems for a global audience.
- Scope projects and help define design processes, task allocation, and timelines.
- Mentor peer designers through interaction and visual design critiques, and promote design thinking and best practices.
