Requirements
- Be professionally fluent in both English and Spanish, including clear professional spoken and written English.
- Have relevant experience in U.S. healthcare administration, medical reception, patient scheduling, or virtual medical assistance.
- Have hands-on experience verifying U.S. patient insurance eligibility, coverage, and benefits.
- Be able to review insurance plan details and estimate patient out-of-pocket costs.
- Have experience managing high volumes of calls in a medical or healthcare environment.
- Have experience with appointment scheduling, patient inquiries, and intake responsibilities.
- Have knowledge of HIPAA requirements and patient confidentiality standards.
- Be able to work full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time.
- Be dedicated to the assigned practice during scheduled working hours, without overlapping employment or client commitments.
- Be available for video meetings with camera on when required.
- Submit an NBI Clearance and/or Local Police Clearance before onboarding.
- Have a reliable laptop or desktop, stable high-speed internet of at least 25 Mbps, a noise-canceling headset, a working webcam, and a quiet professional workspace.
- Be comfortable learning healthcare technologies and adapting to clinic workflows; EMSOW PACS training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Answer and manage high volumes of inbound patient calls using RingCentral.
- Screen patient inquiries and route calls to the appropriate person or department.
- Respond to patient questions about appointments, insurance coverage, clinic services, and scheduling.
- Verify insurance eligibility, active coverage, plan benefits, and applicable requirements.
- Calculate and explain estimated patient out-of-pocket costs before scheduling appointments.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate availability with the on-site clinic team.
- Collect and verify patient demographic, insurance, and intake information.
- Assist with remote patient check-ins using a tablet or camera-based system.
- Learn and use EMSOW PACS and maintain accurate patient, insurance, and appointment records.
- Follow clinic workflows and handle patient information in accordance with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
