Requirements
- Have 6+ years in Product, including substantial ownership of billing, licensing, entitlement, or quote-to-cash systems at a B2B SaaS company.
- Have driven and launched a cross-functional systems change involving Finance, Sales Ops, and Engineering.
- Be able to design or critique entity models and reason about reconciliation and idempotency in a sync.
- Be able to read an API contract and explain why systems processing the same events can produce different numbers.
- Understand the importance of billing-data accuracy and sequence work accordingly.
- Make explicit prioritization trade-offs and connect foundational or data-quality work to commercial outcomes.
- Demonstrate ownership and autonomy in identifying problems and driving outcomes.
- Communicate billing trade-offs clearly with engineering, Finance, and Sales stakeholders.
- Understand enterprise self-hosted, air-gapped, and OEM deployment considerations for licensing and metering.
- Experience with usage-based or hybrid subscription-and-usage billing is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Paddle, Stripe, Chargebee, Zuora, or similar billing stacks is a plus.
- Billing-provider migration experience, coding or data-querying ability, Salesforce or CRM-to-billing integration experience, or familiarity with workflow automation, agent orchestration, or open-source/developer-community products are advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the Licensing & Billing product strategy and roadmap with Engineering, Product leadership, Finance, and go-to-market.
- Prioritize foundational investments based on revenue integrity, enterprise needs, data correctness, and engineering effort.
- Lead discovery with enterprise customers, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, and RevOps.
- Own the license server and entitlement model across Cloud, self-hosted, air-gapped, and OEM deployments.
- Introduce accounts, purchases, license keys, and activations as product primitives and define the API contract for customer-facing systems.
- Productize the Salesforce deal-to-entitlement flow.
- Own usage metering and subscription billing for Cloud and Enterprise, including billable executions, quota consumption, and overage charging.
- Lead migration off Paddle Classic and unify Cloud and Enterprise billing on one platform.
- Align architecture and mechanism decisions with Finance and go-to-market, and establish success measures for the squad.
