Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Science, Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Have at least five years of experience preparing proposals and/or change orders using Excel-based costing tools.
  • Have experience preparing change order and contract documentation.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of project budgets, financial analysis, costing methodologies, and the financial impact of changes in project assumptions.
  • Have excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, financial calculations, data validation, and quality-control techniques.
  • Be familiar with other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understand project lifecycles and how changes in scope, resources, and operational assumptions affect clinical trial budgets.
  • Be able to manage multiple assignments and priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • An MBA is preferred.
  • Experience in the Contract Research Organization (CRO) industry is preferred.
  • Travel requirements are minimal.
  • Be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without employer-sponsored immigration support.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and coordinate change order budgets with project management teams, financial analysts, functional leads, and other stakeholders.
  • Review changes in project assumptions, identify information gaps and discrepancies, and translate requirements into financial estimates.
  • Assess the cost and contractual impact of changes in scope, resources, timelines, countries, clinical sites, and patient numbers.
  • Draft, edit, and customize change order documents covering revised assumptions, budget summaries, resource adjustments, and additional financial requirements.
  • Validate financial formulas and calculations, conduct cross-checks, and perform reasonableness testing.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to exchange information and meet quality and deadline expectations.
  • Schedule and lead alignment calls to review proposed changes, resolve discrepancies, and agree on scope and financial implications.
  • Incorporate vendor and partner change orders into overall documentation when applicable.
  • Maintain records of change order requests, supporting documentation, and budget revisions.
  • Contribute to improvements in change order preparation practices, financial controls, and documentation standards.
