  • Nice to have: familiarity with AI and ML engineering topics, academic or research communications, or video and multi-format content.

Responsibilities

  • Run the Airbnb Tech Blog end to end, from sourcing topics and coaching engineer-authors to editing and coordinating legal, security, and communications review.
  • Set a reliable publishing rhythm for the organization.
  • Identify cross-team themes and publish connected technical narratives while supporting specialist content in each domain.
  • Develop engineers’ and technical leaders’ public presence through bylines, talks, speaker coaching, and new-voice pipelines.
  • Partner with the CTO to establish his public technical presence.
  • Establish an Airbnb-owned canonical publishing home, develop missing formats including video, and define the purpose of social channels.
  • Set conference and event strategy, manage hosted events, and oversee academic collaborations, technical media relationships, budgets, and vendors.
  • Steward Airbnb’s open source presence and ensure public claims are accurate and projects are maintained.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to measure hiring outcomes and assess attribution.
