Requirements
- Have at least 6 years of backend engineering experience in distributed systems, including experience at staff level.
- Bring strong systems design fundamentals.
- Have experience building complex backend systems at scale.
- Have experience creating event collection or data streaming services that support critical systems.
- Have hands-on expertise with Kafka, SQL databases, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Have experience scaling systems through significant growth, ideally in a high-velocity startup environment.
- Have strong computer science fundamentals.
- Have experience working close to infrastructure.
- Familiarity with how Spark, Flink, and Kafka work internally is beneficial.
- Experience building data sync engines that process terabytes of data per day is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Build and optimize systems that move large volumes of customer data efficiently.
- Develop streaming capabilities for real-time data syncing from sources such as webhooks and message queues.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and improve system scalability and reliability.
- Contribute to latency improvements and caching for personalization services.
- Extend and support multi-region, multi-cloud infrastructure to meet data residency needs.
- Work directly with customers on scaling challenges.
- Deliver projects with a high degree of autonomy.
