Requirements
- Have at least 8 years of relevant experience in Compliance, Legal or Risk within financial services, fintech, payments or cryptocurrency.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in law, finance, business, economics, engineering or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience.
- Bring hands-on product compliance, regulatory advisory or product risk assessment experience, including advising on new products and material product changes.
- Have a strong understanding of digital-asset products offered by crypto platforms, such as trading, custody, payments, staking or earn products, lending, structured products, wallets or DeFi.
- Have working knowledge of licensing and regulatory-perimeter considerations, AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC, consumer protection, financial promotions, and trading or market-conduct requirements.
- Be able to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical product requirements and controls.
- Have experience leveraging AI-enabled technology to maintain risk assessment standards, including tuning agentic skills aligned with company risk appetite.
- Demonstrate sound risk judgment and the ability to balance compliance rigor with a pragmatic, risk-based approach.
- Have experience developing repeatable product compliance solutions, controls and review processes.
- Bring project-management and execution skills, including managing concurrent reviews, maintaining documentation and meeting product-launch deadlines.
- Have strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to present recommendations and constructively challenge proposals.
- Be able to operate independently in a fast-paced, globally dispersed team and exercise sound professional judgment.
Responsibilities
- Review new products, features, market expansions and material changes across OKX's global business and product suite.
- Assess product requirements, technical documentation, user journeys, onboarding flows, trading or transaction mechanics, reward structures, disclosures and operational processes.
- Apply a risk-based approach to distinguish regulatory blockers from risks that can be managed through controls, conditions, restrictions, monitoring or escalation.
- Conduct and document product compliance risk assessments covering licensing, AML/CFT, sanctions, KYC, consumer protection, financial promotions, market conduct, asset safeguarding, data privacy and third-party risk.
- Provide evidence-based compliance recommendations that identify risks, mitigants, residual exposure and approval or escalation routes.
- Work with Product, Engineering, Legal, Risk, Central Compliance and local Compliance teams to develop practical compliance solutions.
- Maintain documentation and audit trails for reviews, decisions, conditions, exceptions, approvals and subsequent changes.
- Support post-launch monitoring, control testing, assurance and remediation with Audit, Product and Compliance teams.
- Promote compliance by design and provide targeted training or guidance to Product, Engineering and business teams.
