Requirements
- Have a track record of building and owning large-scale distributed services, with technical depth to evaluate architecture and guide technical strategy.
- Have experience with fleet management, Terraform, AWS, and automated provisioning at a scale of 20 or more clusters.
- Have experience owning services with 99.99% availability SLOs and understand the operational practices needed to sustain them.
- Have experience using AI tools to improve team productivity, including lessons learned from successes and missteps.
- Have experience building and managing accountable, high-performing teams, including addressing underperformance and making difficult performance decisions.
- Be able to lead complex projects to completion without relying on a dedicated Technical Program Manager.
- Have experience leading distributed, remote teams effectively.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the team's Product Manager to set clear priorities and deliver with quality and speed.
- Maintain at least 99.9% availability for Dedicated infrastructure, strengthen security, and automate operations to support more tenants at scale.
- Give the team clear direction and meaningful feedback, and build shared ownership of development and operations.
- Improve team-owned platforms and tools so feature implementers can manage their services in production through self-service workflows.
- Recruit, onboard, and develop team members, supporting their growth and accountability.
- Lead by example with proofs of concept and AI-assisted approaches; simplify processes and automate repetitive manual work.
- Model effective incident management, lead timely resolution and escalation, and document and teach best practices.
- Use data to prioritize work, quantify impact, and manage risk and technical debt; explain technical trade-offs to stakeholders.
