Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience managing QA or quality engineering teams in a high-growth technology environment.
  • Strong record of coaching engineers, managing performance, developing talent, and building teams that take ownership of quality.
  • Experience developing and executing QA strategies that translate product and customer risks into clear priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience reproducing complex customer-environment issues, validating fixes, and identifying potential regressions.
  • Strong technical judgment and willingness to engage directly with technical details.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Engineering, Product, Design, Customer Success, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of exploratory testing, automation, release validation, and risk-based testing.
  • Ability to investigate ambiguous issues, determine when more analysis is needed, escalate risks, and make release-readiness recommendations.
  • Experience with desktop applications, browser extensions, enterprise device management, security software, or authentication is highly relevant.
  • Experience managing distributed or remote QA teams is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a distributed team of QA engineers, including setting expectations, providing feedback, managing performance, and supporting career growth.
  • Own the QA roadmap and prioritize testing, tooling, and quality initiatives based on customer impact and business priorities.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to define release readiness, identify risks, and support enterprise deployments.
  • Reproduce challenging customer issues by recreating relevant environments, isolating failures, validating fixes, and preventing regressions.
  • Improve testing strategies through exploratory testing, targeted automation, and engineering-owned test coverage.
  • Address quality risks involving performance, session persistence, authentication, and workflow capture correctness.
  • Communicate testing evidence, uncertainty, risks, and recommended actions to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Work with customers and their IT teams on complex issues requiring deeper investigation or environment-specific troubleshooting.
  • Turn customer learnings and recurring issues into repeatable testing practices and improved rollout processes.
  • Balance release velocity with product reliability and maintain a focus on customer impact.
