Requirements
- Have 1–5 years of professional experience in OSP telecommunications design, fiber-optic networks, FTTx, splicing, or related telecom engineering work.
- Understand fiber-optic components, splicing practices, network architecture, and outside-plant design principles.
- Be able to create bills of materials, splice sheets, site plans, and supporting telecom design documentation.
- Have experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, survey field notes, sketches, and technical specifications.
- Be proficient with AutoCAD, ArcGIS Online, Microsoft Word, Excel, D365, and Outlook.
- Bring strong knowledge of telecommunications industry standards and established design best practices.
- Have fluent English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, organization, and time management.
- Be able to troubleshoot design challenges and manage multiple priorities and software platforms while meeting deadlines.
- Be adaptable and able to learn new software and processes quickly.
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro, Vetro, Bluebeam, Visio, or PDF-editing software is preferred.
- Experience supporting U.S.-based telecommunications projects and familiarity with U.S. standards and customer requirements is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Design site plans and routes for OSP fiber and coaxial cable networks, including FTTx infrastructure.
- Review and interpret survey field notes, sketches, engineering drawings, project specifications, and other technical documentation.
- Create and update telecom drawings using CAD, GIS, and other design platforms.
- Prepare bills of materials, splice sheets, and supporting technical documentation.
- Organize project drawings and documentation and track revisions accurately.
- Gather, validate, and incorporate information from multiple software platforms and data sources.
- Collaborate with project managers, design engineers, and quality-control teams to resolve issues and deliver projects on schedule.
- Check designs against customer specifications, industry standards, and established telecom design best practices.
- Troubleshoot design challenges and identify inconsistencies before they affect project delivery.
