- Direct experience managing both contract manufacturers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate sales and inventory data into purchasing decisions.
- Experience creating and managing purchase orders and reconciling them against receipts and invoices.
- Familiarity with dietary supplement cGMP requirements under 21 CFR Part 111 and the quality responsibilities of a brand that outsources manufacturing.
- Sound judgment and willingness to own quality and compliance decisions, document the basis for decisions, and involve qualified expertise when needed.
- Strong project-management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
- Strong spreadsheet skills and the ability to learn inventory, ERP, accounting, and warehouse systems.
- Availability to work 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, with some flexibility.
- Experience in supplements is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Monitor inventory, sales velocity, open orders, and projected stock coverage by SKU; forecast demand and act to prevent stockouts.
- Prepare and track purchase orders through production, quality release, receipt, and reconciliation.
- Serve as the primary operational contact for contract manufacturers and key suppliers, securing commitments and escalating production delays or constraints.
- Own brand-side quality and compliance decisions, including product release, holds, disposition, and coordination of investigations or recalls.
- Review manufacturer quality documentation and testing against product specifications, and coordinate corrective actions for discrepancies.
- Oversee label and packaging compliance reviews and coordinate artwork timelines, approvals, and production materials.
- Manage the operating relationship with the third-party logistics provider and monitor receiving, inventory accuracy, fulfillment, damages, and shipping exceptions.
- Analyze fulfillment, parcel, freight, packaging, and accessorial costs; evaluate options and audit logistics charges.
- Maintain inventory, purchase-order, production, and receipt records, and report on stock coverage, at-risk SKUs, open orders, and purchasing needs.
