Requirements
- Have 6+ years of procurement or supply chain experience for an importer, wholesaler, or distributor.
- Have 3+ years owning the procurement or supply chain function as a sole owner or team lead.
- Have experience with physical goods, container and air freight, and overseas suppliers; China and US supplier experience is preferred.
- Have hands-on NetSuite experience with Purchase Requests and approval workflow, Purchase Orders, Vendor records, Inbound Shipments, Item Receipts, reorder points or min-max, landed cost, and procurement-side Bill matching.
- Have participated in a NetSuite implementation on the procurement or inventory side.
- Be able to forecast from sales history and calculate safety stock, lead times, MOQs, and seasonality.
- Have experience optimising dead and slow stock, clearance plans, inventory days, and working capital.
- Have experience with indirect procurement, supplier consolidation, standing orders, contract negotiation, and renewal management.
- Understand Incoterms, freight forwarder and customs broker liaison, shipping documents, and ETA management; dangerous goods experience is a plus.
- Have experience managing supplier quotes, MOQ and price negotiation, performance scorecards, claims, and principal relationships.
- Have strong Excel skills and be able to read Power BI dashboards and maintain inputs; building reports is a plus.
- Have fluent written and spoken English and be able to present to a Brisbane leadership team and write to overseas principals and Australian suppliers without supervision.
Responsibilities
- Own purchasing and inventory planning across key suppliers while managing stock availability and working capital.
- Manage the procurement cycle, including forecasting, reorder points, purchase orders, supplier confirmations, lead times, inbound shipments, and goods received.
- Lead demand planning using sales history, seasonality, lead times, MOQs, and safety stock requirements.
- Monitor dead and slow-moving stock, inventory days, clearance opportunities, and working capital tied up in stock.
- Manage supplier pricing, MOQs, delivery performance, claims, scorecards, and contract requirements.
- Coordinate inbound freight and logistics with forwarders and customs brokers, including shipping documentation and ETA tracking.
- Maintain supplier and service contracts, commercial terms, targets, rebates, and renewal alerts.
- Manage local and indirect procurement, including packaging, consumables, and business services.
- Lead quarterly procurement and forecasting reviews with Sales and Marketing.
- Own procurement and inventory processes for the NetSuite implementation and report on inventory, purchasing, supplier performance, and working capital.
