Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in finance roles in Australian companies.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline.
- CPA, CA or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience managing debt facilities, bank drawdowns, investor drawdowns and project cashflows.
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation, accounting standards and corporate governance requirements.
- Experience in property development and management, real estate, construction, and/or similar relevant industries is preferred.
- Advanced financial analysis and modelling skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Xero for general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, BAS, reporting, and cash flow management.
- Ability to work in alignment with AU business hours, approximately 9 AM–5 PM, Monday to Friday.
- This is an independent contractor engagement; disclose ongoing roles or client work and reflect the engagement on LinkedIn as “Independent Contractor”.
Responsibilities
- Lead finance across both businesses and partner with the Managing Director and project teams on strategic and commercial decisions.
- Support funding, investor reporting, lender requirements, and relationships with accountants, auditors, banks, and external advisors.
- Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, project and company cash flow forecasts, and financial analysis for management.
- Monitor business and project performance, working capital, project costs, commitments, profitability, and investment returns.
- Support property development projects from acquisition through completion, including maintaining project feasibility models and financial assessments.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports, and manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- Support BAS, PAYG, payroll tax, audit, and tax compliance requirements, and maintain compliance with Australian accounting standards and financial policies.
- Manage bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, payroll, superannuation, and employee expense claims.
- Implement and maintain finance systems, reporting tools, dashboards, and automated digital workflows to reduce manual processing.
