Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
- Have an active CPA license.
- Have 5+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, accounting advisory, corporate controllership, or complex financial reporting.
- Bring broad knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including revenue, leases, stock-based compensation, capitalized internal-use software, fixed assets and intangibles, impairment, consolidations, and intercompany accounting.
- Have experience with equity accounting, capitalization tables, and equity rollforwards.
- Have experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platforms, close management tools such as FloQast or Numeric, and equity administration systems such as Carta or Slice.
- Be able to draft and review audit-ready technical accounting memorandums, apply conclusions to recurring operations, and support conclusions with evidence and authoritative guidance.
- Understand how technical accounting decisions affect journal entries, reconciliations, disclosures, controls, financial statements, estimates, and external reporting.
- Have advanced Excel proficiency, including experience with large datasets, pivot tables, and advanced formulas.
- Have strong attention to detail, independent problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial reporting, including the statement of cash flows, during monthly and quarterly closes.
- Support journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and other close activities.
- Own accounting for equity and other compensation awards and coordinate with Equity Administration on accounting treatment, capitalization tables, and equity rollforwards.
- Resolve complex technical accounting matters and translate conclusions into memos, policies, journal entries, disclosures, reconciliations, and documented processes.
- Serve as the primary accounting contact for external auditors, coordinate PBC requests, and prepare memorandums, financial statements, footnotes, and tie-outs.
- Maintain accounting policies and technical memorandums and translate emerging standards into implementation plans and reporting processes.
- Perform monthly flux and variance analysis and explain material movements to Finance leadership.
- Use AI tools to streamline technical accounting workflows, automate recurring activities, and accelerate the close.
- Collaborate with FP&A, Legal, Revenue, People, and Operations on initiatives and Finance-related needs.
