Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including commercial accounting in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition, gross-to-net, inventory, and cost of goods sold accounting.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical order-to-cash processes, accounts receivable, deductions, and customer reconciliations.
- Experience supporting inventory accounting at a commercial-stage biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences company.
- Experience working with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), wholesalers, and other commercial service providers.
- Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience with NetSuite or other large ERP systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- CPA preferred.
- Public accounting or publicly traded company experience preferred.
- Experience supporting SOX compliance and internal controls preferred.
- Able to travel up to 10%, including frequent travel outside the local area and overnight.
Responsibilities
- Manage monthly close activities for product revenue, gross-to-net reserves, accounts receivable, inventory, and cost of goods sold.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and revenue accounting documentation.
- Maintain gross-to-net reserve calculations and analyze actual results against estimates.
- Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, reserves, reconciliations, transactions, and discrepancy resolution with third-party providers.
- Oversee third-party order-to-cash activities, including sales, invoicing, collections, cash applications, deductions, and disputes.
- Partner with Market Access, CMC, and Trade & Distribution teams on commercialization initiatives and product launches.
- Prepare financial reporting schedules and analyses, assist with audits and regulatory reporting, and support SOX compliance.
- Identify process improvements and participate in ERP implementation, system enhancements, and integration projects.
- Manage, mentor, and develop team members.
