Requirements

  • Hold a BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, or have equivalent experience.
  • Maintain an active CPA license.
  • Have 5+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, accounting advisory, corporate controllership, or complex financial reporting.
  • Bring broad U.S. GAAP expertise, including revenue, leases, stock-based compensation, capitalized internal-use software, fixed assets and intangibles, impairment, financial statement presentation, consolidations, intercompany, and multi-entity/currency structures.
  • Have experience with equity accounting, capitalization tables, and equity rollforwards.
  • Be proficient with NetSuite or similar ERP systems, close management tools such as FloQast or Numeric, and equity administration systems such as Carta or Slice.
  • Be able to draft and review audit-ready technical memorandums, implement conclusions in recurring operations, and work constructively with external auditors.
  • Understand how technical accounting decisions affect journal entries, reconciliations, disclosures, controls, financial statements, significant estimates, and external reporting.
  • Have advanced Excel proficiency, including large datasets, pivot tables, and advanced formulas.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, independent reconciliation and discrepancy resolution, ownership, and self-motivation.
  • Hands-on proficiency with AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT applied to accounting workflows is preferred.
  • Big 4 or national firm experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own monthly and quarterly financial reporting preparation, including the statement of cash flows.
  • Account for equity and other compensation awards in partnership with Equity Administration.
  • Resolve technical accounting matters and document conclusions in memos, policies, journal entries, disclosures, reconciliations, and process documentation.
  • Serve as the primary accounting contact for external auditors and facilitate PBC requests, memorandums, financial statements, footnotes, and tie-outs.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain accounting policies and memorandums and perform monthly flux and variance analysis.
  • Monitor emerging accounting standards and translate guidance into policies, implementation plans, disclosures, reporting calendars, and processes.
  • Apply AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT to streamline technical accounting workflows and recurring processes.
  • Partner with FP&A, Legal, Revenue, People, and Operations on new initiatives and Finance department needs.
