Requirements
- Hold an active license to practice law and be in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
- Have 5+ years of substantive legal experience.
- Bring deep personal injury litigation experience across multiple states.
- Understand statutory and common law frameworks, first- and third-party bad faith claims involving varied insurance coverage, and recoverable damages and their limitations.
- Demonstrate a track record of developing mastery in more than one practice area, including becoming a resource on unfamiliar legal subjects quickly.
- Have exceptional legal drafting skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Have experience producing complex documents such as pre- and post-litigation demands, medical summaries, written discovery responses, and legal memoranda.
- Be able to turn legal knowledge into actionable, unambiguous direction for non-lawyers.
- Have working fluency with large language models, including substantive use and an understanding of their failure modes.
- Be curious and comfortable with ambiguity.
Responsibilities
- Decompose expert legal reasoning into decision trees and define how conclusions must be anchored to the record.
- Refine AI drafting logic against real output and evaluate its performance across cases.
- Develop working mastery of unfamiliar practice areas, including applicable law, procedure, authority, evidentiary standards, and document conventions.
- Translate legal judgment into product requirements, specifications, taxonomies, and evaluation criteria with Product, Data Science, and Machine Learning teams.
- Maintain the legal knowledge base and case-specific templates, including firm- and state-level customization.
- Research liability and damages nationwide and monitor statutory and common law changes.
- Mentor the Legal Operations Team on evolving legal standards.
- Lead quality assurance through audits, benchmarking, and evaluation development.
- Work with clients to explain document construction, gather requirements, and relay findings to internal teams.
- Advise teams across the company on substantive legal questions and surface risks before they reach client deliverables.
