Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least 3 years in a senior or staff-level role.
- Deep expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript in a production full-stack environment.
- Strong command of React, Node.js/Express, and Postgres.
- Proven experience designing and owning distributed systems or data pipeline architectures on AWS.
- Track record of technical mentorship and team growth.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in or leading engineering at a growth-stage startup.
- Significant experience architecting and deploying production-grade ML/AI systems.
- Familiarity with ETL pipelines and AI/LLM integration patterns.
- Optional: Experience with healthcare or regulated data environments (HIPAA).
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the architecture of the core platform (React, Node.js/Express, Postgres, AWS ECS).
- Drive the JavaScript to TypeScript migration by establishing standards and tooling.
- Design and extend ETL pipelines and config-driven AI integration frameworks.
- Lead technical design reviews and maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
- Identify and resolve systemic technical debt.
- Define technical strategy for ML/AI model integration.
- Mentor engineers and establish engineering standards for quality, testing, and observability.
- Partner with product and clinical leadership to scope and de-risk large technical initiatives.
- Lead production support initiatives, including runbooks and post-mortems.
