Requirements
- 8+ years of professional engineering experience
- Track record of building and running production systems at scale
- Hands-on experience in at least one modern backend stack
- Proficiency with relational and non-relational data models
- Ability to write clean, tested, and maintainable code
- Routine use of LLMs for research, diagnosis, coding, and review
- Experience operating in an agentic, AI-first environment
- Proven ability to mentor and multiply the output of others
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience owning outcomes from ambiguous requirements to production
Responsibilities
- Make real improvements to enterprise-grade retail software at scale
- Set technical direction and make architecture calls that shape how systems evolve
- Work with stakeholders to scope, sharpen, and stress-test customer-facing features
- Engage with customers to learn their workflows and pain points to inform product development
- Partner across the organization on unified solutions for cross-team problems
- Mentor other engineers and reinforce team skills
- Help the team plan, estimate, and de-risk major projects
- Set the bar for engineering judgment, code quality, and craft
