Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience.
- Have 8+ years of database administration experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL.
- Have strong database optimization, security, and access-control skills.
- Have 3+ years of experience managing databases on AWS.
- Be proficient in Python or Go.
- Have expert-level Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform and Git, applying an SDLC approach to infrastructure.
- Have advanced experience with replication tools such as Oracle GoldenGate or Debezium.
- Have solid SQL skills and experience optimizing complex queries.
- Have experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as DataDog, Splunk, and CloudWatch.
- Desired: Have experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB and MongoDB.
- Desired: Hold AWS Certified Database - Specialty and Terraform certifications.
Responsibilities
- Design automated database infrastructure and write custom tooling.
- Build resilient real-time data replication architecture by streaming data from databases into Kafka using Oracle GoldenGate or Debezium.
- Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Developers, and Architects to engineer high-performance, event-driven data pipelines and self-service database systems.
- Contribute to the design, automation, and optimization of PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, and DynamoDB environments.
- Build modern CI/CD pipelines and automated failovers.
- Develop scalable Kafka-based CDC frameworks to support database stability and real-time data availability.
