Linear provides a fast, efficient platform for issue tracking, sprint management, and roadmap organization. They operate on a $1.3 billion valuation, with $134 million raised across four funding rounds. This includes an $82 million Series C in 2025.
How We Work
Linear is a remote-first company with a distributed team across North America and Europe. They deeply value focus and asynchronous collaboration. You will experience intentional in-person connections through team off-sites, optional co-working, and occasional travel. Expect small teams with clear ownership and minimal meetings to protect your focus time. The company embraces a "zero-bugs policy" and holds "Quality Wednesdays" to maintain high standards. They unite the entire team once a year for an offsite in inspiring locations like Copenhagen, Mexico City, Helsinki, or Lisbon. Optional co-working hubs exist in Berlin, New York, and San Francisco.
Engineering at Linear
Linear builds a full-stack TypeScript React application with a custom real-time sync engine. This ensures instant updates and offline readiness. You will work with a robust tech stack including React, MobX, and styled-components on the frontend. The backend utilizes Node, Postgres, Temporal, and Redis. They use GraphQL for their API and SDK. Linear operates on Google Cloud with Kubernetes, ensuring scalability and performance. Engineers here are generalists who solve complex problems end-to-end. They value strong JavaScript fundamentals and a background with React and TypeScript.
